Her Name Was Celebration
16. 12. 2014

Went to college and by the time winter break rolled around, I had drastically changed my look. I had briefly talked to one of my college friends about the whole grunge look and she said I could pull it off. In light of the whole going to college and feeling like a different person, I decided to get my nose pierced and chop off my hair. Which I guess I thought would help me achieve a grunge-y look or something…

Getting my nose pierced was something I thought I’d get myself for my 19th birthday. For a couple of months, I researched nose piercings and freaked out about getting my nose pierced. Everyone said it hurt a lot so every time I thought about it, I felt all nauseous. But I really wanted to get it done so one day after class, on a whim, I went to a tattoo parlor and just got it done. (Side note: I didn’t think it was as bad as I thought it was!) While I’m still contemplating whether or not I have a good nose for nose piercings, I really like it!

And as for chopping off my hair… I just got it done a couple of days ago and am still weirded out. I keep running my fingers through it and when it stops short, I’m like “Where is my hair?!”. This is the first time I’ve had it this short since I was 13 and I think I’ll have to have some time to get used to it. And figure out how to style it! Any suggestions?

I hope everyone’s week is going well and everyone is staying warm :)

Love, Olivia

I remember getting my hair cut and how weird it felt when I was brushing it! That where’s my hair gone feeling can be a bit stressful, but I’m sure you’ll get used to it.

I think this is a cute look- very fun take on “grunge.”

My favorite shot from this shoot was the close up of the bracelet over the sleeve. Great detail photo.

I love your hair shorter! I am all for changing up your look if you feel like it. I can’t really see the piercing but I bet it looks great. I have actually been contemplating an ear cuff one myself. Good for you for just going for it!

I got my nose pierced in NYC at a place called The Gauntlet, it was like going to a Doctor’s office. They really took their piercings seriously. I had to use surgical steel b/c I am allergic to silver. I thought it hurt A LOT I was actually surprised by how much it hurt. I had it for years, then one night when I was out clubbing it fell out and by the next morning it was about %60 closed so I just never had it done again. They are fun, though and love your new hair!

Nice look; I like the beanie. When I was younger I wanted a nose piercing but nowadays the idea makes me cringe and I’m glad that I never got one.

I can see that grungy look on you, i know you have that rebellious side so excited to come out, lol. I am so chicken with tattoo or piercing so i am not much of a help. Oh i never remember how long ago I had short bob length hairstyle. My hair was always been long for the last 20 years. You look so cute and I am digging these look on you.
